Gentlemen,
In several of my texture folders I have found files with the extension .rgb. It seems that they are associated with other texture files with the extension .bmp.
What are these files, can they be deleted etc etc?
Thanks -
Jorgen

Re: Files with the extension .rgb in texture folder
My guess, Jorgen, is that these are the master files that the author used to create the textures. RGB stands for "Red" "Green" "Blue" and have the full colour depth before compressing the files in the conversion to an extended bitmap file (.dxt bmp) for use in the sim.
I'm not sure why they are present in the texture folder - do they have the same file names as the dxt (bmp) files?
I would be inclined to remove the .rgb files to a temporary folder and then test what happens to the textures, if anything, when viewed in the sim.

They do indeed have the same file names, and my thinking was going along the same lines as yours.
I have also posted this question of the AIG and FSDeveloper forums, but haven't seen any replies in either yet.
I think I'll hold off for some days and see if any replies come up, and if not then proceed as you suggest.

Just remove them Jorgen and see what happens.

I removed those, and at least so far have seen no adverse effects.

I thought that would be the case.
The Andover package is nearly there. I'll post an update in that thread soon.
