Could I ask any textures for FS9 are also saved as 32-bit?
That way I can convert for use in P3D and keep the quality.

Will do a Barak Block 40C model so you can begin textures for them.

The D models are finished and checked. I am just starting on the C models but I won't be able to check them as there are currently no schemes.
Will upload once the Cs are done.

OK F-16 Block 40 Barak.zip uploaded to your folder, Mark.
I have included the modified aircraft.cfg with the lights added. Also included lightmaps for the C and D to include lamps for the noseleg door.

Will check the Cs in game later.

Mark just to let you know that the weaps textures are 24 bit. That caught me out whilst testing. You will need to convert them to either DXT3 or 32 bit, according to your preference.

OK update on the mdl conversions.

So far after starting from the block 10s, I have worked my way up to and started on the block 50+ aircraft.

I haven't made any available yet for two reasons. One, as I am going through I am formulating ideas for the best way to release them and what to include. Two, I would like people like Mark to have first crack and painting them up in schemes that have so far not been made available.

Once I have cleared all the ones I can find, I will check with Kev to ensure I have got them all and then I will be in the best position to work out the best release strategy.

Mark - In your folder...
A F-16 IDFAF Block 40C Folder
Inside is

First of the Block 40C models
Aircraft config file
Better paintkit - It has some fixes
Alpha channel for the textures.

Paintkit includes a complete texture for 531.
You can duplicate to a new layer and change the numbers etc.
Please vary the dirt layers and instrument screens every so often, just to give a little variation.

There will be more models to follow - the weapons textures are the same as the ones used by the D model at the moment - Not needed another yet.

OK all of the P3D models that are publically available plus the Barak -30/-40s currently on build have been converted. I make a total of 122 mdls.
All have been checked in the sim at dusk to ensure that the cockpits displays are lit, the taxy lamp is lit and that the lights are lined up correctly.

So all I need from Kev is the nod to the fact that I have covered them all, i.e. there are no others created but not released.
I can break it down if you need it.

The anomalies that I found are that there are no block 42s, and I know that Mke was working on them and I have schemes for Holloman.
Also there doesn't seem to be any block 60s for P3D - they were released for FS9.

For completeness sake, I will ask about the blk 70/72s as they are now real. Are they different to other versions or just internal differences?

I think that's them all.

I haven't done any Block 42 or 60.

70's I 'think' are mostly internal differences, especially in the cockpit.

OK I will start to mull over the best way to release these.

One person has already contacted me about a package so the good news is that P3D users will also benefit from those.

If anybody wants to know if a particular version is covered, as they want to do a package, then I will be happy to let them know what is available.

There's always the possibility of a joint P3D and FS9 one also.
It's slow enuf doing the models without having to do the textures also.

Absolutely. The key thing is if the textures are done in 32 bit then they can be converted to any format required.

So a quick question then, Kev. Upgrade of existing F-16s to block 70 would basically be the same model that they already have but what about new build 70/72s. Are these essentially 50/52s with different internals?

The obvious place to start here is Bahrain which is upgrading its 40s to 70s and buying new build 70s.

Basically yes.

I even have the JHMCS and Scorpion 'sensors' add-ons ready to go if needed.

Thinking about it...A lot of the early ones for Taiwan were converted from Block 20 A and Bs.

Yeah, exactly what I was talking about.
So really two questions, is the upgrade only internal no added lumps or bumps, and what are the new builds based on and again any lumps and bumps.

If the answer is the first then great, If the answer to the second is 50/52s and no added bits then also great.

Is it easy to do the 42s, or has there been no need for them - so far?

Damn, looking at the pics on F-16.net it mentions that the 70s have an IRST and it looks like there is a lump on the underside of the intake just in front of the nose door.

Just my point of view all of the mdls have been converted. The only ones outstanding are the C-40s and anything else that Kev throws in at the last moment.
