Updated to v. 4.2.4 OK.

But this issue: "On the right, the field titled "AI removable sections" - in the blue field it says "only valied for AI aircraft", that description would maybe be clearer if it was to say "can be removed for AI aircraft"?" is still there.

Both issues noted by me are fixed. Many thanks Martin for such quick responses. I will let you know if I find any other problems on my installation.

Hi Martin.

4.2.4.0 isn't working for me at all. On loading it immediately goes to the crash report. If I click 'cancel' on that, I get the main UI loading but it never completes. I simply have the Win11 'pending' icon. I can see the file structure, and I can even see the models, but the detail fields remain unpopulated.

Complete guess here, Tim, but do you think that it might be to do with an xml addon that P3D allow? Is there any way that you can check it/them easily?

Tim, this is a known bug. It was not reported here, but at AIG a bunch of people have it.

I will release a version this evening or tomorrow where you have to opt into the sim folder analysis until I have figured out the issue.

It’s “good” that you have the issue, so the two of us will find the reason together.

Good news is that with the next version screen scaling will work again. I only had to redo the complete interface….

I have absolutely no idea, Steve! The previous general-release version worked perfectly for me, and I don't have P3Dv6 on this computer so that wasn't an issue. So it's something that's changed since the last of AIAE v3.x. I won't try to get involved in a deeper analysis; that's beyond my expertise and I'd risk confusing the issue for the experts. Having reported it, and Martin having confirmed it's a known bug, I'll stand by for more info.

Hi Tim.

Would you please replace the AIAE executable with the one attached here and tell me if you can now work with the application.

If that does work, can you please click on the button 'Refresh' right beside the SimFolders drop down box. I would expect a crash then.

Many thanks
Cheers,
Martin

There will only be one when I can be confident, based on some feedback, that a release will work.

Hi Martin. Unfortunately I deleted AIAE hoping I could find an older version on another computer that I could transfer to this one. I haven't got around to that yet as I'm fighting an infection which seems to mean I'm spending a lot of time asleep and nowhere near any computer!

I'll redownload the current version on your website and see what I get.

Ok, that's done. As you suggest, it worked out of the box and then crashed when I clicked on 'refresh'.

Perfect is not exactly the right thing to say.... :-)

I will make you a special version with lots of dialog boxes so that we can track where things go wrong.

I downloaded the newest version, and I noticed one problem. I do alot of editing my AI, and update the textures as I go along. With this version, I noticed that you can select multiple fltsim.x entries, but when you right click to delete the ones you've selected, no menu comes up. At first, I checked to see if flight sim was open and found it was. I closed this, and tried again, still no menu when I right clicked. I then tried shutting down the program and reopening it again, and still couldn't get the menu to come up when I right click on the entry I selected to delete. I'm using FSX-SE on Windows 11. The older version I was using until I saw this come up was working fine when deleting fltsim.x entries, but this one doesn't seem to want to do that

Thanks for reporting this. I know what that is. To make AIAE work with screen scaling, I had to rebuild the interface. I had to move every control on a new form temporarily.
Moving them back I discovered that every control had lost all associated methods.

I brought them all back, with the exception of the grid control. I forgot about the right-click....

Update comes tomorrow. Sorry for that.
