Hi Martin. Sorry to bring you another issue with another AIAE. I have just downloaded V4.2.27.0 from the library and installed it on my laptop and this is what I get.

ImageScreenshot 2024-03-08 085905

I am unable to scroll up or down to get to the aircraft list or see any of the data at the top. I have tried changing my screen resolution but it stays the same. The aircraft viewer and the log viewer work ok, but I can't select different aircraft.

Is this something that you know about, or is it just a problem with my set up. Previous versions have worked fine.

Thanks Derek

Almighty.... Is that screen shot with 100% screen scaling, Derek?

And what was the last version that worked fine?

From mobile hence short

Martin

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

That was with the screen at 125% 1920x1080. Having rebooted the computer and set the screen resolution to 100% it is a lot better, but still cuts the bottom off and I can't scroll down to see it.

I have just reinstalled V3.3.52.0 and that works ok.

Funny thing is that the scaling issue was fixed for all others. I will test again when I come home this evening.

You would need to install the new version again to test, Derek. Does the attached version (replace Exe) change anything for you? This is a blind try, because I cannot replicate the issue.

petebramley wrote: One thing I have noticed is that when selecting each aircraft the main screen shows the Model version/status but this info no longer comes up in the log viewer. Without the log entry I have to select each model in the aircraft folder to ascertain the version of the model. In the old version it was checked and reported for all models in the folder, now it only reports the model name in the Log viewer. Hope this makes sense.
Found, confirmed and fixed, Pete.

Is that AIAE maximized? If so, when resizing it manually, does the status bar show or always stay hidden?

Hi martin

It's the same maximized or when I try to resize manually. I never get the status bar at the bottom of the screen. When I resize it manually there is no scroll bar on the side to move further down the screen, should there be one?

Hi Martin

Sorry but I am unable to download the file. Windows thinks it's a virus and won't let me download it. I'm sure it's not a virus, would you maybe be able to email it to me and I'll give it a try. Thanks

It is extremely unpleasant for me, but I must ask you to download the installer again, hopefully for the last time. I am very sorry about this!

The AIAE self-updater needs three more DLLs, but only if an update is actually available. I only noticed this today when I activated version 4.2.8. Unfortunately, the missing DLLs cause the program to crash.

Therefore, I will not push the update to the current version for the next few days. Please download the new installer from the two usual locations: here @ MAIW and here @ The Owl's Nest.

Besides fixing the self-update mechanism, the following changes have been made:

- the latest DLLs from MCX (fixes a bug with texture loading)
- Texture directories using the standard "texture. Something\texture" are now supported.
- The log file contains the information for which simulator all models in an aircraft folder have been compiled.
Cheers,
Martin

Success. I downloaded the installer from your Owls Nest site and it works perfectly, even at 125%. Thank you for your patience and perseverance with this. AIAE is one of the most useful FS tools available. Hopefully it'll work for every one else now as well.

Martin, just to let you know that the MAIW link above was to your original AIAE and not the .Net version. I have altered it to avoid any confusion.

Great news Pete!

There is one user @ AIG for whom the simfolders discovery still crashes, but I have that hopefully fixed now. Also, a lot of small nitty-gritty issues I found during extensive testing lately.

If Howie confirms it works for him, I will release version 4.3 with the updated manual and then I step away from AIAE for some time.
Cheers,
Martin

May I please ask you to give the attached version a rigorous test run. This should be the release code. Please test it really hard.

Many thanks!!

Installed the above V.4.3.1.0 last night and all looked fine but this morning I discovered a small anomaly.

when aircraft folder is selected the "atc_heavy" column shows up for all A/C entries even though the "Aircraft.cfg" file has no atc_heavy entry in any of the [fltsim.x] entries. Previously if there was no entry in the aircraft.cfg then this would not appear. The entry is correct for those aircraft folders where the "atc_heavy" is required & present in the aircraft.cfg.

Will continue checking as I install yet more Biz jets.
