Grob Tutors

Post by shaggy22 »

Hi guys, just uploaded my first file to Flightsim.com. I've decided to do the Grob Tutor fleet for the UK and Grob factory in Germany. Go get them if you want them. File grobtutorfp's.zip

Just grabbed the FP's but cannot find the base A/C. Can only find the UKMIL AI Tutor on flightsim.com. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

So the answer appears to be that you found the aircraft and it is the UKMIL release that the readme talks about. It is not a true AI aircraft in the sense that we use here.

I have found the UKMIL Grob and downloaded it from Flightsim.com. But the one required in the Flightplans by Dan Reeves is the "DG Designs Grob Tutor T1", which I cannot locate.

Or are they one and the same thing :smt102

That's Dave Garwoods Tutor, which again, was made as a flyable aircraft and not ai, so will hit your FPS.

Where did you get that from? totally wrong.

the UKMIL AI Grob is a true AI model, with multi LOD. It is a new model built from scratch. True it does not have the 9 million Lods you guys put into models, but it has enough to keep the mdl size small, and keep framerates friendly. Being an AI aircraft is NOT all about how many LODS you can create, its about being useable with little frame rate impact.

To answer your specific question I got that from the description of the the file named ukmildgr.zip on flightsim.com .
"FSX Grob Tutor T1. An upgrade of the original FS2002 Grob tutor by DG Designs. The upgrade was carried out by UKMIL with the permission of DG Designs. The upgrade, gives improved performance and handling in FSX, and a whole new panel and VC."

Now there maybe a completely new Grob model NOT created using DGs original source in which case I am wrong and I am willing to be corrected. However there is a polite way to do that, and then there is your way.

I don't think that a poll is needed to determine which way people prefer.
