Laughlin AFB

Post by lewis »

Been messing around with the AI T-6 Texan ll using the PC-9 model supplied in the BAe Hawks package, populating a little an empty Laughin base. Here is what I ended with.

Great job Lewis, as mentioned in the other thread, for some reason I never saw the PC-9 model, but just got it swapped out at NAS Pensacola and working to have them around Laughlin, and other USAF bases as well. Any chance of a release of of the gray scheme from you?

I am sure that Lewis will spread his joy, once he is happy with them.

Thanks guys for your nice comments. I packed up the Texan, and it's a little bigger than what I thought, 19.5 megs, so it will be necesary to be uploaded to Flightsim.com. There, anybody interested can download it at will. It will include 11 XL, 3 RA and a bonus Navy Texan. Also the trafic file and the afcad for Laughlin AFB.

Excellent job Lewis, don't forget about the new and ugly cream-sickle orange/white scheme on the new USN T-6B's.

Thanks. I textured all the T-6's after actual photos. All 11 Laughlin, 3 Randolf and the Navy paints are backed up by them (photos), but I did not find any white/orange Navy trainers. Did find blue/white but no orange. I am packing everything up to upload it some time soon.

Cheers, Lewis

Got it installed and noticed I had no T-6's on the ramp at DLF. I did not use your AFCAD as I already had one made up, but everything installed correctly. However, in the FPs is 2DLF, do you have an AFCAD for this field?

Did you ever upload your XL T-38's? For some I can't find the ones you sent via email.

Thanx

Yes, I sent the T-38's, I'll send them again as soon as I can. About the DLF, no I did not include that afcad, I'll have to correct the pack, just realized that I did not include the afcad for the T-6 and T-37's. Will also send you the F/P's I started this pack with, they include plans for the 38's.
Thanks for the heads up.

Great job on the T-6A, thanks alot! I've been looking for something to populate the training bases with T-6s especially the Navy bases. FYI, all of the T-6Bs at this time (the ones in the orange and white scheme) are going to NAS Whiting Field and carry the E marking on the tail code. The only T-6s based at Pensacola are A models, are blue/white, and carry the F tail code. As of September there were only 2 T-6Bs at NAS Whiting field and they are going to be used for instructor training. Students will start flying the B model in April 2010 so there should be more aircraft there by then. The Navy Test Pilot School is also getting T-6B's and their current A models will be transferred to Pensacola. So, long story short, F coded T-6's are blue/white and the E coded T-6's will be the orange/white scheme. Hope this helps your work for accurate models and thanks again for providing the T-6 AI!

P.S. - Also if you are interested I can provide some good photos of the Pensacola T-6s or any of the Air Force T-6s including some of the new Sheppard AFB (EN) 89th FTS T-6s that replaced the T-37 Tweet.

Brandon,
Big Naval Aviation fans like myself look forward to having accurate NAS's, especially ones I was stationed at real world (Pcola/Jax). The Whiting package is really good as well, you might want to keep that one around until all the T-6B's come in. The model is not a true AI and I can only imagine the framerate impact if every NBAI T-34C was replaced! I just need to populate NAS Pensacola with more T-1's to match the real world USAF CSO training pipeline move and T-45's for VT-86. Only one T-39 model out and it's not AI.
