Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
for some reason, I cannot uncheck the 'Enhance in-game AA setting even after duplicating the profile. it says something about nvidia explicitly disabled the modifacation of this feature. I have a feeling it is my doing, not the program
Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
In Nhancer open the Options drop down menu and click/check on the last Option named "Allow override of predefined settings". This will allow you to uncheck the "Enhance in-game AA setting" and set your own independent AA settings. Then uncheck the AA setting in FS9 and you should then have no jaggies in either the windows mode or full screen mode of FS9.djnocturnal wrote:for some reason, I cannot uncheck the 'Enhance in-game AA setting even after duplicating the profile. it says something about nvidia explicitly disabled the modifacation of this feature. thanks for all the help guys, but still no luck even after unchecking Enhance in-game AA...something has to be conflicting somehow.
Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
DJ,
If you are not having any luck with this, one thing does occur to me. This maybe a stupid question but you have got an Nvidia graphics card haven't you?

Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
yes, I have a nvidia geforce 9100, when i load the nvidia control panel it actually shows the modified profile, with the exact setting as in nhancer. strange this is.
been thinking of picking up a new power supply and card for fsx...hmmm

Well its all very strange. Unless you have a security reason stopping you altering the screen mode. I have never heard of an nvidia user being unable to fix the problem this way, unless they were using Vista.
To give you an example I just duplicated the amended one, altered the executable to FSRepaint.exe, and the profile name and now the jaggies are gone from FSR as well.

Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
after loking through my installed programs I noticed that I don't have .net 3.5 framework installed, only 1.1. I would have thought the program wouldn't run if I didn't have it? I will try installing 3.5 and see what happens.

Yeah
DotNet 1, 2, 3 are not cumulative at all but rather self standing pieces of programme you should have them all!

I would agree with that thought. I suppose that you don't need 3.5 to edit profiles but checking for it would be an easy way to check that somebody has it installed correctly.djnocturnal wrote:after loking through my installed programs I noticed that I don't have .net 3.5 framework installed, only 1.1. Apparently, the problem maybe that you already have a higher version installed but not activated. Try reading through this thread. http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-pro ... dows7.html

Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
that was infact the problem with net framework 3.5. that is now active thanks to the link you posted. However the jaggies remain lol. very frustrating lol.

What? DJ you are testing even my patience.
There must be something that you are doing, or maybe not doing. So following the nhancer thread made no difference to you at all, even with AA switched off in FS9?

Well as an XP user, I can't help with the intricacies of Win 7.
Have you seen this and does it help? Are you 64 bit? http://forum.nhancer.com/showthread.php?t=1513

Re: FS2004 With Win 7 64 Bit and NVIDIA GT 240M Graphics Card
Just found something that may be useful, what DX mode are you running in, or is FS9 in. Apparently nhancer doesn't work in DX10 preview mode or DX11. http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?s=48 ... try1710472
There isn't anything that forces nhancer or FS9 to try and use DX10 or DX11is there? I realise that you may not be able to answer this. I guess what we need is somebody else who runs FS9 under your version of Win 7 to say that it works.

I now have both a new laptop and desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit running FS9. My only problem was getting rid of the jaggies in FS9 windows mode as described above. On both systems Nhancer allowed me to override the predefined settings in the profiles from the NVIDIA Control Panel and then, after unticking the Enhance in-game AA setting, create a custom AA setting that in conjunction with unticking the AA setting in FS9 gave me jaggie free images in both FS9's windows and full screen mode.
Hope this helps.

Superb! It was becoming a bit of a puzzle that one. Put it down to one of those didn't install properly things.
