37th AS - Ramstein C-130J

Post by CelticWarrior »

Does anybody fancy repainting the HTAI C-130J-30 in the colours of the 37th AS, Ramstein as they're just converting from the E model?

Scramble.nl is a good place to start, go into the countries Order of Battle page and find the squadron you are interested in. Wikipedia is also quite good as well as people add bits to it. Modelling decals is another source, not good enough to use but a good guide for you to "trace" around. Some squadrons have their own pages on the net.

After that a search on google might throw something up. I have used squadron patches to trace around occasionaly.

Why can’t they keep the colours in the bloody paint pots and just leave them grey

+1, thanks and love having the Herc's. Anyone know if the no drop tanks is a normal config for J-30's?

If I remember correctly, the C-130 doesn’t have “drop” tanks. The tanks on the wings are fixed. Every E/H model I’ve seen has them but I think they were omitted on the J’s. Must have decided the lower fuel burn made them unnecessary.

I did a quick search for "RS C-130J" on Airliners.net and the piccys show the -J's and the -J30s without tanks.
