All I can say to this thread is :smt103 :smt103

I'm simply dumbstruck by the sheer amount of AI

I just have one question-how long does your game take to load?

Between 20 to 30 minutes to come to the Flight Selection screen. I am also running a lot of add-on scenery and other flight related programs, etc...

40-45 Minutes on my ageing Dell Dimension Pentium IV 3.20GHz System. :)
Once up its running stable at (mostly) good framerates despite 100% AI density!

20-30 minutes? My game takes about 20 with a fraction of the AI!

Ok now I don't feel so bad with a 10min load time.

The Army units look correct, do you have repaints for all for just using generic paints to cover the various units?

Was going to use a generic paints on copters. Some of the fixed wing paints can be found. ETIK is one of my early problems due to not being in FS9. The C-12s HTAI models should do, NBAI for the AH-64D, CH-47s and converted flyable for the UH-60 (JFAI has one that works well) and the UH-1.

AFCADs will be biggest issue.....

Thought I would chime in as well , in regards to lots of AI , once I load FS9 I go to the store, come home and walk the dog, take a shower, eat dinner then I'm ready to select a flight.....just kidding, but about 15 to 20 mins for me, I don't feel alone anymore. But it is well worth the wait.

With close to 10 inches of snow on the ground, (we been shut down and shut in since last Monday) , I finally got a chance to work on my set up. I mostly did maintenance by removing and reinstalling my flight sim set up.Seems to get rid of a lot of excess files etc. and correct any errors I have been having. I now have over 17000 aircraft flying, and the bigger your flight sim gets, the harder it is to keep up with it.

What I use is FSAddAircraftPark_v2, a utility by Arnt Helge Haaland. It allows blanket PARKING CODE AND PARKING TYPE CHANGES. It reads your aircraft.cfgs and loads all your aircraft like a spreadsheet. Look in the lower left corner for total number of aircraft.

As far as load times, I just timed my set up this morning and it took 37 minutes till the aircraft selection screen. I keep a fairly updated system (latest drivers etc), running WIN7 with a dedicated 1TB drive that FS is on (nothing else). I also have a 8 GB "Readyboost" drive (Flash) that I use to increase performance. I run 8GB of DDR 2, Duel Core. I have a 1 GB Nvidia graphics card and I am overclocking the whole system.

FS takes some maintenance to keep running the best. I have a lot of FS and disk utilities to keep my set up running as fast as can.

I made an ADE9X scenery for Aviano last summer, you can get it in the "My projects/Packages" section.

Here is another useful utility. Called "Renum", just drop it in your aircraft folder and when you update or add entries, save it then click on "Renum" and it will renumber your aircraft entries.

Thanks for sharing both of those utils flyboy - a little help goes a long way!! Although I must admit I do use the AI Aircraft Editor from the owls nest for re-numbering.....

I do most of my work inside the folders, so "Renum" is just handy to use. We ought to come up with a list of useful utilities that people use. Some of these utilities save a lot of time and find errors that causes support questions.

I have one called "Scenery Align" that renumbers your Scenery.cfg file and makes sure the layers are numbered right. Better for me to add scenery manually then within FS. Then after I add, delete, or edit the layers, I hit Scenery Align and it checks and renumbers it.

Just went over 25,000 AI aircraft added. Takes about 40 minutes to flight selection screen. Still adding as I find them, thanks to all who make available their packages, models, paints, scenery, AFCADs and flightplans.
