MAIW in the future
MAIW in the future
I read the New Year commentary on the main MAIW page, and what it said about FS9 user interest being down because of simmers transitioning to FSX. Obviously, there's going to be more and more transitioning, and I'm wondering if MAIW is going to make the transition over to FSX, also.
I'm sure the topic has come up before, somewhere, but are there any plans to do native FSX MAIW projects?

Re: MAIW in the future
At this moment in time there is no impetus to change. Both sims are dead systems so changing one for the other doesn't make sense for me.

No, there will be no switch.

Re: MAIW in the future
I bought FSX on the first day of its European release, but I don't have the feeling I'm missing out now that I have uninstalled it again. I could never get the graphics and detail to the same level as I now have in FS9, let alone with all the AI traffic I've been gathering in the last 8 years or so.
That is the feeling most if not all of the MAIW staff have so there are too few of us with FSX installed. We can't create or test packages for a sim we don't have
All we can do is support people like Martin who offer solutions to convert our packages.

Re: MAIW in the future
i have both FS9 and FSX deluxe but just cant get to liking FSX ? so i say "LONG LIVE FS9"
Re: MAIW in the future
At the end of the day the current MAIW packages will work in FSX with a little work on your part. So why want a change that would leave a hell of a lot of simmers high and dry because they can't afford the hardware to run FSX?
Re: MAIW in the future
I have gone back and forth from FS9 and FSX over the years, but I always comeback to FS9.
I dont think anyone is missing out by using FS9 instead of FSX.
