Hi all .

Have playing with excellent FGR2 by Fernando Martinez over the last few days and noticed that there was the drag shute is not visible on landing. Now RAF F-4's did use drag shutes. Right then I had a look at the aircraft config file of the FGR2 and the F-4C/D and noticed the turbine engine data section was different In F-4C/D .

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain=0.003
inlet_area=4.290
rated_N2_rpm=29920.000
static_thrust=4200.000
afterburner_available=0
reverser_available=1.000

and in the FGR2 it read as follows.

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain=0.003
inlet_area=4.290
rated_N2_rpm=29920.000
static_thrust=4200.000
afterburner_available=0
reverser_available=0.000

The last line needs the changed from
reverser_available=0.000
to
reverser_available=1.000

Now the drag shute works fine.
Hope this is clear and help someone.

Regards Mark............

Hello and Merry Christmas to everyone
:D

May I ask if we have any news regarding the progress of F-4E/F and the RF-4C/E models?

Thanks

Hi Chris,
Whilst Fernando Martinez is kind enough to share his models with us, he works alone on them and he tells us about them either when he feels confident that they will be released soon or in fact have been released.

From previous comms that I personally had with him on the 'Tooms, I know that he has been working on them enough to have released a screenshot of an 'E' but there has been no published release date.
Fernando frequents this forum and he might post an update, if not please don't take it as a slight it will will just mean that Fernando hasn't finished them yet.

Hi Firebird,

It should be the way I expressed my question and it was also my first post here. Well, Yes, I know in general what is happening, as I I'm tracking the progress in AI military projects for over a year now, initially on the other forum, and from August here.

Thank you anyway for your post, as I believe that it is always good to remind some important things for all of us and especially if someone is new on the forum:D

Now, in fact I saw a picture of an Israely F-4E on the second page of this topic which off course as metioned was an early stage picture so I just wanned to ask Fernando if he has any news on this. That's all.

Off course, if an update on the progress is not available yet for any reasons that is 100 percent understood by me :D

Thanks again

Chris

Gentlemen, from time to time there are enquiries as to how Fernando is getting on with his next F-4 releases.

The link here may explain why no more have made it yet, and some retro enthusiasts will be delighted when you read the last entry dated Jan 30.

There some really nice a/c there. The A-7 looks a treat. But when will the F-4K get released? I need one for the Ark Royal when its released

I don't know but I wouldn't be at all suprised if they are released together as a package.

My first thought was that the Hawkeye would be pounced upon by some people here.

a repaint idea

Post by delta_lima »

There was interest a while back in USAF QF-4s. Anyone interested in taking a stab at the Navy version, since the model and paint kit for it is already out?

Lots of reference here:

Just an idea for a some traffic around China Lake, Patuxent River, and other Naval test facilities.

Ok. I know that this may not be the place for this questuin, but those E-2, A-7 and a-6's are fantastic. Are they available anywhere? I have been populating my Navy bases and carriers with flyable acft as AI and as you may imaging, frame rates are killing me. I already have the F-4 (So great that sometimes you feel like flying with them as regular acft). Any heads up on this matter?
Thanks Fernando for these amazing acft. Lewis :?

Fernando hasn't been on here in months. Might want to check in at the Alphasim boards.

Hello Stinging C,

If my tracking of BuNo's is correct, (which meant it would have been orginally 149461), then this plane would have been converted to a QF-4B in 1977, then shot down in 1982.

Apparently it flew for a brief time in NAS Johnsonville/Warminster (since that is where NADC was based) - but I can't find record of how long, since the main planes that were used there were P2V Neptunes and P-3 Orions

It's a pretty scheme, isn't it?

Sorry, I'm not trying to sound like a broken record, I was just looking at this post and it hadn't been updated in a while.
