One note, P-3C's have a VHF antenna on top of the tail cap which I don't see
Thanks. :D . Can you send me a pic of the antenna? Shouldn't be a problem including it.

Thanks
I'm on it. Just to note, that antenna is P-3C only. The A/B models have it buried inside the tail cap, which was a pain to replace.

Jake, first off, I misspoke. It's the UHF2 upper antenna, not VHF. Anyway, if you go back and look at the line drawings that Jeff posted you can see it. If you want a better picture, I can get that also.

Thanks, Bill. I need to go back and look more closely at all of those anyway.

Here's an update. Finally figured out how to do LOD's! :D Still a lot of refinements to make, but its finally looking like I might finish this thing...

Thanks to Graham King for the textures. :smt038

I second that, a very nice job. A lot of different Air Arms can shortly have something to fill their skies.

She looks great! And, the opportunities for packages is extensive. This thing is all over the world, so there will end up being tons of paint jobs. Have any ideas been worked up yet? I can hardly contain myself. :)

further update:

Now 8 LOD's: (count is from ACM)

LOD 1 6183 (400) White
LOD 2 5922 (200) Red
LOD 3 2823 (150) Yellow
LOD 4 1761 (100) Mag
LOD 5 1631 (075) Green
LOD 6 1043 (050) Black
LOD 7 198 (020) Grey
LOD 8 42 (005) Lt Green

Its a bit heavy on the first two but drops off pretty quickly after that. I'm not sure if I can reduce those first two any more, but it comes in about the same as the default B737. The main poly hogs are the engine nacelles.

The second picture is 15 fps on my 3 year old laptop. 8)

Jake, you can let cockpit windows in solid shape. Just design them using a black background for them, just like AIA and EvAI models. You will get more FPS and minus polys just doing this.

Cheers

I agree with Justa. See-through looks great on fighters with a canopy, but here I would suggest textured windows like on all the great AIA/EVAI/TFS models. It saves polys, and you never get the interior of the cockpit to look right anyway in my opinion.

You may try windows be very dim but as a general rule - no windows, just a texture

Latest LOD poly counts since doing away with the see-thru windshield, redoing the fuse and nacelles(again) and making some low-poly weapons pylons for LOD 2,3,4:

LOD 1 5118 (400) White
LOD 2 4284 (200) Red
LOD 3 2550 (150) Yellow
LOD 4 1761 (100) Mag
LOD 5 1631 (075) Green
LOD 6 1043 (050) Black
LOD 7 198 (020) Grey
LOD 8 42 (005) Lt Green

OK, now here's my latest question: How do you paint the windshield? What color do you use and how do I get the the two front posts to show up?
I'm sure Graham would know but he's out of town for a couple of weeks.

Thanks :)

Japans designed a jet successor for P-3!
I've found the info in the last AirForces Monthly magazine.

Sure looks like a photoshop job to me! Look near the wing root where the wing should join in - looks like it is just overlayed. Is this a joke and I'm missing the point?
